Silver Creek Fiber at For the View Farm is hand made from our beautiful Leicester Longwool Sheep who live on our farm in Mount Airy, Maryland. Our sheep are hand sheered and the fleece, which can weigh anywhere from 11-18 lbs. is then processed and dyed.
The wool is available in skeins and can be custom dyed to order.
Generally softer and somewhat finer than Cotswold, it's highly valued by handspinners and weavers for its handle and beautiful dye acceptance. Contact me directly for skein pricing and custom orders here.
Silver Creek fiber was born out of the vision of Gail Willie and her desire to have her own sheep farm. Since 2001, Gail has raised and cared for her own Leicester Longwool sheep on her 52 acre farm. The Leicester Longwool's fleece is prized by handspinners and crafters for its curl, soft handle and lustrous beauty. Gail has all her sheep hand sheered and prepares this beautiful, natural wool for sale.
